Age is just a number – Success and age

Recently two news items captured my attention
The first was news of Wipro Chairman handing over the reins to his son after 54 years in Wipro. He turned a small maker of vegetable oil into a USD 8.5 billion software behemoth.

The other news was of Jack Ma retiring at age of 53. Again he created Alibaba and made history. Both of them will however continue to be on the board of their companies.-

Jack ma retired 5 years ahead of Bill gates who retired at 58.

This is when I realised that in this journey of life no one is ahead of you and no one is behind you. Each one of us is on our own unique journey
So while you are on your professional journey – enjoy it to fullest but do not get worked up on the success or failures of your ex colleagues, batch mates etc,

And remember age is just a number. Some achieved their success after retiring – KFC is an example. ( In 1952 at the age of 65, when most people are looking at slowing down and retiring, Harland David Sanders began Kentucky Fried Chicken).

  • Excellent Rajesh. Also spells hope for other business owners who fear they may become irrelevant once they hand over reins of active operations. Now they can look forward to reinventing themselves and embarking afresh on a whole
New and exciting journey, bringing longevity into their professional and personal lives!
